Sublimation Printing

Sublimation printing, sometimes referred to as dye sublimation, is a versatile method of digital printing that can be used to decorate garments such as t-shirts and a range of promotional goods such as mugs and drinking bottles. Sublimation prints don’t fade or wear easily and are very durable.

Sublimation ink is printed on to a special transfer paper that absorbs the ink and dries quickly. Using the paper, the ink is then transferred to the garment or object with heat and pressure via a heat press.

Sublimation works on garments made of polyester, or on objects that have a polyester coating. When heat and pressure are applied, the sublimation ink becomes a gas, and is absorbed into the polyester itself becoming part of the garment or coating.
